The RCM will host a one day course to help midwives understand mental health on 3 November. The event will be hosted at the Wishaw District and General Hospital. Some of the topics that will be discussed include different models of mental health, how race, culture and gender impact on mental health, and common versus serious mental health conditions.There will also be sessions on the signs, symptoms, causes, treatment and support for less common mental health conditions such as bipolar disorder, postpartum psychosis and schizophrenia, as well as more common conditions like depression.
