I went to university and realised I wanted to work with people, variety, challenges and to avoid boredom.

How has your career developed since you started nursing?

I have been at the forefront of nurse development and education in the north west of England since the 1970s. I was one of the first to do the combined RGN and RSCN (registered children's sick nurse) qualification and to study district nursing as a university diploma.
