Greener respiratory prescribing – better for planet and patient

In order to combat climate change, governments across the UK are prioritising the reduction of carbon emissions. As part of this, the NHS aims to deliver ‘greener’ respiratory care, with each of the four devolved nations having their own strategies for achieving this (see the resources section). This is because inhalers account for 3% of the total  NHS carbon footprint).1

In this article we discuss why and how to do this, for the benefit of patient and planet.
