A leading exhibition and conference for primary care nurses will take place in the North for the first time this autumn

A leading exhibition and conference for primary care nurses will take place in the North for the first time this autumn.

PCN Expo North, sister to the popular PCN Expo London, will be take place at Exhibition Centre Liverpool on 7 September. At last years conference in London, nearly 500 primary care nurses attended the day, to listen to keynote speaker Jackie Smith, chief executive of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, present an update on revalidation. There are also clinical workshops throughout the day which contribute to CPD hours for revalidation.

‘An excellent opportunity to access key speakers/figures in specialist skills and subjects,’ said one practice nurse who attended the event. ‘Increased awareness of free resources useful for revalidation and ongoing training related to most areas best practice hopefully with the overall objective of improved patient outcomes.’

The conference, now in its third year, features sessions run by experts in key clinical areas for primary care nurses. These include asthma, diabetes, immunisation and contraception. Afull list of clinical areas can be found on the PCN Expo website.

‘PCN Expo is very useful and helps all nurses who are willing to participate in them to achieve their revalidation easily,’ said another attendee.
