Social media
Graham White comments on professional conduct on social media

I enjoy using social media and I would like to begin using it in my role as a nurse. I am looking at ways to develop my own skills and share my experiences with others about our profession. The manager of my practice has said I need to be careful. When I asked for some advice, he said it was my responsibility to ensure I did not do anything wrong. Can you advise how best to use social media professionally?

It is great to hear nursing colleagues are embracing social media. Over the last few years, social media use has risen enormously. Many other professional bodies have seen this development and embraced it. The RCN has said it is a way of supporting social engagement and a positive addition to the nursing world. It can be a tool to help people network, share, and inspire innovation, and inform research.
