Burton Hospitals Foundation Trust has launched a drive to recruit more nurses into its two community hospitals and sole acute setting.

Burton Hospitals Foundation Trust has launched a drive to recruit more nurses into its two community hospitals and its acute setting.

The Trust, which covers the the Samuel Johnson Community Hospital in Lichfield, and the Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital in Tamworth and Queen's Hospital in Burton, is looking to recruit nurses from both community and acute settings into its hospitals. The Trust is looking to attract nurses who are interested in working in a new environment, who want to get back into nursing after a career break, and nurses who have recently completed their training.

Brendan Brown, chief nurse and chief operating officer, said: 'We're looking for talented people that are compassionate, dedicated and looking for a challenge in a rewarding environment. We are proud of the supportive culture we have created and the professional development opportunities available to staff; if you're keen to progress there is a lot of scope to do so here at Burton Hospitals.'

The Trust will host an open day on 5 September at Queen's Hospital Medical Education Centre in Burton, so nurses interested in applying can see the settings that they will work in.

Mr Brown added: 'We want to make the open day an informal and relaxed experience where people get a real insight into life at the Trust and find out what it is like to be a nurse with us. We are on a journey of improvement here at Burton Hospitals and it is an exciting time to join us.'
