Why did you become a nurse?

When I was 11 I helped my grandmother care for my family when they were ill. She taught me to look out for signs of common illnesses, such as a fever, chickenpox, and asthma. She also taught me how to check pulses and manage pain. From this point, my curiosity grew about what caused someone to become ill and what would make them better.

How has your career developed since you started nursing?

After completing a BSc in Nursing and Midwifery at St Martha’s College of Nursing, Bengaluru, India in 2008, I began working as an intern nurse and later as staff nurse in the surgical ICU.
