Preparing positively for a disciplinary hearing

Graham White on how to get the best outcomes from a disciplinary hearing

I have been accused of being rude to a patient. My manager has requested that I attend a meeting and they have told me I can be accompanied to the meeting. I don’t understand all of this and I am very worried about what may happen. Is this a disciplinary hearing and could I lose my job?

This can be a very alarming time for an employee and the worry and uncertainty can cause unnecessary stress and anxiety. Make sure you have the request to attend the meeting in writing and if not ask for this before agreeing to attend. This request should also include details of the actual complaint against you.
