Written by: | Published:

An e-guide for commissioners and providers of asthma services, setting out the 15 key aspects of care that characterise good asthma services, could save lives and reduce the high cost of medication and emergency hospital admissions.

Produced by Primary Care Commissioning, Asthma UK, the British Thoracic Society and the Primary Care Respiratory Society, it highlights the need for patient involvement in the design and delivery of services; accurate, early diagnosis; optimum use of medication; staff with skills to manage acute episodes; reduced emergency hospital admissions; and improved risk assessment.
