The Commissioning Nurse Leaders network will be hosting a week of action to support commissioning nurse leaders on safeguarding issues. There will be networking opportunities, online webinar training and a national conference to inform nurses about safeguarding. 'As the executive lead for safeguarding, I am aware of how hard safeguarding leaders work and the commitment they bring to facing challenging agendas on a daily basis. I am delighted that the whole system is coming together and that regional leads, area teams and CCG leads will be spending time discussing critically important issues. The week gives [nurses] an opportunity to hear what the national safeguarding steering group is focusing on, share good practice, network with colleagues and encourage each other in your unique role in safeguarding children and adults,' says Jane Cummings, says chief nursing officer for England. The will be a host of webinars, blogposts on the 6Cs Live! website available from 20 October. The action will cover a whole range of topics surrounding safeguarding including FGM, child exploitation and adult safeguarding. The conference will take place on 22 October and will cover key policy documents, as well as personal stories from nurses. The network will also be active on social media using the @CNLnetwork Twitter account. All updates can be followed from #SafeguardingWoA.
