Cynthia Jones, district nursing team leader at the Brecon medical Group Practice in Powys took home the British Journal of Nursing award for community nursing for the implementation of a local leg club, demonstrating an improvement in the management of long-term leg ulcers and healing rates.

At the CPHVA/Unite Awards, the health visiting team from Northenden Health Centre in Manchester, scooped the award for community practitioner team of the year. The team was praised for effectively managing a socially deprived area with the full range of health visiting challenges and 'still managing to remain cheerful at the end of the day'.
