NHS England is planning a major relaunch of Choose and Book which, it is hoped, will make electronic referrals 'universally and easily available' to patients and their health professionals for all secondary care services by 2015.

The relaunch will be built around a publicity drive and according to NHS England there would be no fundamental change to the service itself.
NHS England is also planning to increase health literacy by training thousands of people how better to use the internet for such services.
According to its business plan for 2013/14- 2015/16, the organisation will train 100,000 citizens in basic online skills by April 2014.
