Members can nominate themselves for these nursing representative roles, the RCN has announced.

The President and Deputy President act as ambassadors for the nursing profession and represent the RCN to its members, stakeholders and the public across the UK and internationally. They also serve as full members of RCN Council.

‘RCN Presidents and Deputy Presidents have embodied the ambition, vision and values of members for more than a century, influencing nursing and improving patient care,’ said Chair of RCN Council Carol Popplestone.

Candidates standing for election must have their nomination supported by two RCN members, be a registered nurse and have been an RCN member themselves for at least five consecutive years immediately prior to the closing date for nominations.

‘Now is your chance to take on one of these prestigious roles, ensuring the voice of nursing is heard. I would urge all those who feel they can contribute to put themselves forward to help play their part in raising the profile of our safety critical profession,’ added Ms Popplestone.
