Im saddened to hear that so many of our nurse colleagues are having to take a second or third job to make ends meet - I agree that our pay does not reflect our work at all and goes to show we do the job out of love for our patients. I myself was on maternity leave last year and found it very demoralising that we as a family got into rent arrears.

I do like the fact that you appear to cover a wide range of topics and more importantly about nurses in the community who get forgotten at times and that all services are not acute based. Its a shame that colleagues appear to not appreciate that many nurse workforces and skill mix are trying to keep the client at home and not utilise acute services unless absolutely needed but we remain the poor service with very little financial investiment
