I am a nurse manager, a band 7 nurse. My day job is an infection control nurse working in the Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust and I also work for the GP Confederation for the NHS in Leeds. I am also a Queen’s Nurse. I currently work at Elland Road vaccination centre and I am seconded there for six months. I am one of a group of five nurse managers. There is also a lead nurse who is the Leeds community vaccination lead. We all cover 12-hour shifts, from 7am until 7pm.

Our vaccination site is massive. It is part of Leeds United football club’s centre. The space has been set out with ten lanes where people can come into different pods and remain socially distanced.
When I am working, I will come in half an hour before, to set everything up depending on which vaccine we are using. We set up our safe care system so we can check staffing and make sure everyone is here.
