Why did you become a nurse?
I wanted to work with young people, but wasn't initially sure in what guise this would be. I took a gap year after my A-levels and worked in an orphanage in India, before returning to study psychology. I later realised I wanted something more hands-on so decided to enter nursing.
How has your career developed since you started nursing?
On qualifying, I worked as a school nurse, a role I thoroughly enjoyed as it involved working with young people of all ages, teaching classes, providing one-to-one support and working with vulnerable families.
