Why did you become a nurse?

It was my dad's dream to see his daughter caring for vulnerable people. It was partly his influence, as well as my own desire to be a nurse from a young age, that helped me decide on this career. I always wanted to care for patients with respect and dignity, as I would want my own loved ones to be treated.

How has your career developed since you started nursing?

I qualified as a nurse in September 1999 and started my first job looking after elderly people on a rehabilitation ward and stayed there for a year.
