Palliative care consultation

PHE's National End of Life Care Intelligence Network has launched a consultation on changes to the national information standard for end-of-life care coordination.

PHE's National End of Life Care Intelligence Network has launched a consultation on changes to the national information standard for end-of-life care coordination. This standard identifies the core content to be held in the electronic palliative care coordination systems and aims to support communication and coordination of end-of-life care between professionals and services delivering care. Some of the proposed changes include changes to the definition of 'carer', simplifying choices for the preferred place of death to hospital, community and hospice, and changes to the model of consent giving by patients and relatives during end-of-life care.
