RCN liver disease framework

The RCN has created a framework to support nurses in improving the care of patients with liver disease.

The RCN has created a framework to support nurses in improving the care of patients with liver disease. The framework provides information about the causes of liver disease, its management and how to provide guidance to patients who may be at risk of developing the condition. It has been created so it is applicable to both primary and secondary care nurses. The framework also intends to promote education of the public about liver disease and its risk factors. It highlights tackling alcohol abuse and rising obesity levels as key ways to reduce the incidence of fatty liver disease.
