School nurses' conference
The RCN will host a conference for school nurses on 28 August. The event will be held at The Thistle hotel, Marble Arch in London. The programme includes seminars and presentations on topics such as: why girls join gangs; supporting pupils with learning difficulties in schools and educational environments; and bereavement and how school nurses can support children and young people.
The conference aims to enhance professional and clinical practice skills of school nurses, as well as raising awareness of the school nurse community.

Nursing Diagnoses: Definitions and Classifications
The latest edition of Nursing Diagnoses: Definitions and Classifications will be released in September. The book aims to help nurses improve diagnostic accuracy across all disciplines.
Features include 25 new nursing diagnoses and 13 revised diagnoses based on the latest global evidence, introductory chapters designed to help student nurses understand assessment and its link to diagnosis, and an FAQs chapter containing answers to key questions sent to addresses common areas of confusion.
