Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Conference

This conference will be held at the Royal College of Nursing in London on the 6th and 7th of March. The conference will showcase nurses and midwives and their contributions to healthcare through a variety of presentations covering themes such as clinical practice, leadership and management, education and training, policy and projects, and research and innovation.

RCM Research Conference

This year, the Royal College of Midwives is holding its annual research conference at Leeds Cloth Hall Court on the 11th of March. The conference is set to feature talks, debates and discussion on midwifery research, focusing on the theme ‘developing a research culture in midwifery’. This event is free to attend for RCM members.

Nursing and Midwifery Job Fair

The largest dedicated recruitment event for nurses and midwives in the UK is being held at the Park Plaza Victoria in London on the 14th of March. This fair will feature employers looking to recruit nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants. It is recommended that you
bring a copy of your CV, photo ID and your PIN.

PCN Expo
Primary Care Nursing Live is the leading educational event for primary care nurses. It will take place on 17 March 2020 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Brought to you by Practice Nursing and Independent Nurse this event will provide nurses with CPD-certified interactive workshop sessions around key issues in primary care. PCN Live has been specifically designed with revalidation in mind. It will provide a wide choice of interactive workshops and a vibrant exhibition to make sure that every attendee takes away important new knowledge to enhance their practice. BJN Awards

The British Journal of Nursing Awards 2020 will take place on Friday 20th March at the incredible Shakespeare's Underglobe, London.

The BJN Awards are a showcase of nursing excellence, highlighting the critical contribution that nurses make to healthcare. They represent a fantastic opportunity to gain the recognition that hard work and dedication so richly deserves, and a chance to commemorate achievement at the nursing profession’s night of the year.

Nursing, Genomics and Healthcare Event

The Wellcome Institute is holding a conference at their Genome Campus in Hinxton on the 27th-29th of April. This conference will focus on integrating genomics into clinical practice and nursing education and is set to include presentations from professionals, panel discussions and open debate.

RCM Awards Ceremony

This year the awards ceremony by the Royal College of Midwives is being held at The Brewery in London, on the 5th of May. This event aims to reward, celebrate and share the achievements of midwives and midwifery teams across the UK and is free to enter.

Commemoration Service for Florence Nightingale

The service is being held this year on International Nurses’ Day, the 12th of May, at Westminster Abbey. This date also marks the birth of Florence Nightingale and this service will commemorate her life and celebrate the nursing profession. The service will include the lamp carried by Nightingale during the Crimean War when she visited wounded soldiers in their wards.

RCN Congress

Held this year at the ACC Liverpool on the 7th-11th of June, the Royal College of Nurses’ Congress will feature debates on a variety of topics across clinical practice, staffing, finance and more. Around the debates there are also fringe events, including learning opportunities and health and wellbeing sessions. This is the largest nursing event of the year and is free to attend.

RCN Nurse Awards

This year, the awards ceremony will be held on the 8th of July. The awards celebrate achievements in nursing across the UK in 10 categories, including child health, cancer research, and GP and community nursing.
